What is The Tribute STEM Foundation?

The Tribute STEM Foundation is an organization created to promote and support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-inspired educational programs within Little Elm and The Colony Communities. We are a non-profit organization focused on educators and the next generation by providing support and funding where needed.

 

What is the difference between the PTA and and Education Foundation?

While the goals and purpose of an Education Foundation and “PTA” are very similar, each type of organization has unique qualities in their scope and reach. “PTA”, as a national organization, is bound by strict by-laws which dictate how fundraising is achieved and how funds are implemented into educational programs. Education Foundations are non-profit organizations and can raise as much funds as needed to meet stated goals and objectives. The funds raised by the Education Foundation are not subject to state-mandated processes.

 

What is the “non-profit” status of The Tribute STEM Foundation?

The Tribute STEM Foundation operates as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, meaning, subject to individual circumstances, generally 100% of all donations are tax deductible.

 

How does The Foundation operate?

The Tribute STEM Foundation’s activities are to be guided by the Foundation’s elected Board, which is made up of volunteer parents who dedicate their time to raise funds and enrich your child’s education. Foundation members will be eligible to serve on this board and also have opportunities to serve on various fund raising committees.

 

How will the Foundation’s funds be allocated?

With input from teachers, school administration, donors, and Foundation members, the board will meet regularly to assess funds raised and identify appropriate educational projects. Through a very thoughtful process, the Foundation board will determine how to best allocate and distribute funds raised to meet the organization’s stated goals.
